Bristol F2B Fighter at Caboolture hangar

Today Warbirds Online can report the arrival of a Bristol F.2b Fighter at Caboolture, Qld. The Bristol aircraft was built to exacting standards by Ed Storo in the USA and completed in 1993.  Registered as N7724, in 2001 the aircraft made its way to New Zealand and was displayed at various airshows in the colors of WW1 RFC veteran J7624.

The Bristol F.2b Fighter was re-registered in New Zealand as ZK-JNU and was displayed by Tim Sullivan.  It is powered by a Ranger six-cylinder air-cooled upright engine of 200hp (149kW). It is currently painted to represent an example that is believed to have seen service with the Royal Flying Corps in Afghanistan B1112.

The Bristol F.2b arrived on Monday 9th March 2015, having completed a display at the 2015 Avalon International Airshow and has been purchased by a local collector Jack McDonald and will operate out of Caboolture airfield.

Upon its arrival the Bristol was immediately unpacked from its shipping container and assembly began immediately. The aircraft will operate as part of the TAVAS fleet of aircraft.

Warbirds Online is pleased to share photos of the arrival and assembly of the Bristol F.2b Fighter at Caboolture.
