Hunter Fighter Collection Inc. Volunteers

Volunteer with HFC Inc.

Hunter Fighter Collection Incorporated (Inc.) is supporting the creation of the new Scone Warbird Attraction at Scone NSW.  A Warbird Museum is currently under construction as part of the Scone Warbird Attraction and is planned to open by December 2021.

Hunter Fighter Collection Inc. is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and is dedicated to the preservation of military aircraft, in particular Fighters and Trainers of the RAAF, and now has aircraft held in trust to be loaned to the Upper Hunter Shire Council for display in the Scone Warbird Attraction.

We are now seeking the services of Volunteers to work on the aircraft to be displayed in the Museum prior to the opening of the Scone Warbird Attraction and to maintain the aircraft collection into the future.

The first aircraft requiring work will be Marcel Dassault Mirage III O(F) Ex RAAF A3-44 and then Aermacchi MB-326 (Macchi) Ex RAAF A7-047.

The work will commence with the Mirage. Whilst complete, it needs a great deal of mechanical and cosmetic work.

  • The work will take place at Scone Regional Airport.
  • Days and hours are Wed-Sat: 10.00am – 3.00pm, negotiable

Ideally we are seeking Volunteers with Aviation or Engineering skills, but we will equally welcome anybody who has enthusiasm and some mechanical ability.

Scone is located about 3 hours north west of Sydney and about 2 hours west of Newcastle. Volunteers will be responsible for their own travel (carpooling is a possibility).

The aim will be to operate in a cooperative positive team environment and being a team player will be an absolute must. The work will be intensive, but will also have its rewards.  We aim to create a skilled team of Warbird enthusiasts in a positive fun atmosphere. We are offering Volunteers an opportunity to work on some unique historic aircraft.

Please express your interest in Volunteering with Hunter Fighter Collection Inc. by email to info.hfcscone@gmail.com
