Progress is ongoing at Pays Air Service at Scone NSW on the restoration of Supermarine Spitfire IX MH 603. Since our last visit in February 2014 a great deal of work has been carried out on the wing assemblies, with all of the trailing edge ribs added to both wings and the skins in the process of being fitted to the first of the wings. The wings will now be completed over the next few months and work will then proceed to finish the fuselage prior to full assembly and completion.
Greg Johnson and Sean Fox are hard at work on the Spitfire, however with the recent arrival of Hawker Hurricane XII 5481 at Scone, the completion of the Spitfire may be delayed a small amount of time whilst the Hurricane is made ready for flight.
